Guest guest
Hi Ninette and all, My kindergarten comment has been taken out of context. Allow me to classify my comment: The reference to kindergarten was more in reference to age group one learns to deal with peers, act, interact in a socially acceptable manner. Whether you were taught at home, or even attended kindergarten, playschools, etc., skills such as language and communication are learned in a very basic way between the ages of 2 to 6. From infancy to 2yrs, children have an egocentric philosophy in that they do not care what goes on around them as they think they are at the centre of the universe. " the terrible two's " is a symptom of a child going forth to early childhood and leaving behind the " me, me, me " philosophy. Social skills acquired after two years of age are the fundamentals; as adults we all have a choice to build on these fundamentals (hopefully for the better) or hang on to the pre-2 year old mentality :-) We can get into Nature vs Nurture and another long list of if's & why's. But let's not, OK?... :-) Your beliefs are A-OK with me :-) Source? - " Mastering Psychology " (University of Toronto text) by Lester A.
