Guest guest
Hi Gang: I've been on Neurontin 1200 mgs. a day for a couple of weeks now. I'm much calmer since I dumped the Sinimet Cr and Elavil. I can sit and relax or watch TV without the RLS kicking in, but I have been laying in bed for 1 - 1/2 hrs and still haven't fallen asleep. The last 2 nights I got up at 2am and made a cup of coffee for myself, turned on the TV, drank the coffee, laid down on the sofa with the TV on and slept like a baby till the sun came up. Does this make any sense? I'm kind of mind boggled about it. I have been going out of my way to stay away from caffeine. Just my 1 cup in the AM to get a jump start on the day. I know RLS has it's crazy idiosyncrasies. Any ideas from anyone? Diane

If I drink too much during the day and especially after 4pm, my RLS really flares. However, if I just drink a little during the day (mainly morning) and essentially decaffeinate myself, I can sometimes enjoy a nice dose of caffeine in the evening, even before bedtime, and sleep really good! Go figure, eh? RAINBOWPED@...
Guest guest
Hi, Well this is interesting to hear, because when I mentioned the fact that my RLS is back after my month break to my Doctor yesterday he told me to take No Doz!?!? I was upset and thinking to myself great I thought my doc would be more supportive and give me something good for my occasional bad night. I told him that I didn't want to be on anything daily or too strong, just that I wanted something to take when I couldn't take it anymore. Caffenie....that was his answer. I haven't tried it yet I have the flu something awful so he gave me some loratab to help me with my coughing and they seem to make me sleepy enough between feedings that I get some rest at least as much as the baby will let me. I hope that your letter means it works. Also about the going to the loo in the middle of the night boy did that strike a note with me. I did all of the keeping the lights out, trying to even keep my eyes half closed but, it always seemed to hit me when I was sitting there all of a sudden my one leg would start it's stuff and I knew that I was in for it. Taking it in 2 or 3 hour stretches these nights anyway.... Raine
Guest guest
The caffeine works for me also, but like everything else for this damn affliction, not all the time. It must be lovely having rls, plus the flu, plus the usual exhaustion from tending to an infant! Like you and others, the nightly trip to the bathroom results in at least an hour of no sleep. Sometimes I just feel so sorry for myself, and so angry! I didn't have rls when my children were babies, but I remember being so tired that nothing else seemed as important as being able to sleep. Hope the legs and the baby give you a break soon. ne, 58, Lawrenceville, NJ ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
