Guest guest
<< Now, it didn't say what type of animals this study was on, but I was wondering about the 'restored motor coordination and balance' and even though many of us with CMT are rather young, I wondered about eating blueberries and if that would help our balance and coordination? I am trying to find the exact whole study to read. >> Like Joyce's situation, fresh blueberries are only available for a few weeks once a year. We always eat quite a few of them, but I haven't been aware of any changes. On the other hand, all my life my memory has not been great, but now, compared with my in-laws and some other acquaintances (mostly drinkers) my memory seems to be very good!!! LOL They rely on me to remember information because they can't. It's all relative folks. I'd be interested in what type of animals were in the test, AND for how long they were eating the blueberries. Also, who conducted the study. Often it turns out to be vested interest. For a far out but perhaps interesting site about using flowers to improve your life, go to: http://www.rainbowcrystal.com/bach/bacha.html#articles Needless to say, they have something to sell, too. Some comments I received along with the web site include: Here are some facts in ref: Bach Flower Remedies: In the Bach flower essence system, for example Olive is the remedy for mental and physical exhaustion. Aloe Vera is for exhaustion caused by burnout. Morning Glory treats addictive behavior. Nasturtium is for vitality drained by dry intellectualism. Peppermint is for general sluggishness. None of these flower essences replace Olive, but expand the possibilities of fine-tuning the selection of the appropriate remedy. FES flower essences also address specific contemporary issues. Pomegranate is for women conflicted between career and family. California Poppy is for those who seek spiritual experience outside of themselves, i.e., in cults or through drug-taking. Shooting Star helps those who don't feel at home on earth to create a sense of belonging to and caring for all of humanity. =========== Back Flower Remedy for a CAT? A friend wrote: " Recently our 12-year old kitty became very, very ill. The vet said he was prematurely aging and his kidneys were shutting down. Didn't sound right to me so I talked with everyone, read everything I could and, among other things, I put Bach's Rescue Remedy into 's (our cat) drinking water. The turn-around was incredible. This little guy had sure seemed on his way out, the had vet offered no hope, and about 24 hours after using the Rescue Remedy the difference was startling. I'm not sure what was actually wrong with - my closest hunch is that he was catching and eating lizards (which are very bad for cats) but you can be sure that Rescue Remedy stays in my purse and in our medicine cabinet from now on. " Dina ========================= I personally don't go along with this sort of thing, (in general, far out ideas are usually expensive), but I know other people may, including our daughter-in-law. " Whatever works " is my motto. Kat
