Guest guest
Jeanne and Mr. Biggles, I agree with all you say...........I just didn't get into all the facts. It's a sad commentary on our medical associations and on the FDA that it finally took the more open-minded Euro community to get our gov't to MOVE on standardizing, etc. the herbals. But only a very small part of the medical community is interested. Mostly the younger docs. The older ones still pooh-pooh the herbals loudly. I have always felt the older ones just cannot let go of that 'MDEITY' image that is so dear to them. That image is their POWER!, their superiority, that separates them from, and keeps them above, their patients. (That's the truth, docs, like it or not! Sometimes the truth hurts a bit.) One more generation and the old ones will be gone and the FDA will have things sorted out and then maybe things will begin to pop! BTW, tell us about Mr. Biggles. I for one would love to hear about him. am, 76, Tucson ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Doctors like to see proof that something works and that it is safe. Doctors like to " measure things. " Experimentation like I took some zinc lozenges and my cold got better just doesn't cut it with the medical-scientific crowd. As I gaze through my herbal mags, I see herbs recommended for just about every possible conceivable problem...........you would have to spend every waking minute taking some herbal pill/tea/powder, not to mention all the vitamins to prevent every possible human malady. OBTW, that popping sound is the banks exploding from the influx of money from herbal sales. You trust the FDA will have things sorted out? " not going to spend all day popping pills/herbs nor spend all my money on unproven, unscientific, unregulated, unknown side-effects, unguaranteed potency, and unknown contaminated products " RAINBOWPED@...
