RLS: Why some meds don't work

For those of you taking medications, I thought you might be interested in

this paragraph from an email I received from my sister (who takes tons of

meds for various problems). I don't know anything about this, but I

thought it was something that might apply to your situations and be worthy

of your attention.

" Found out some interesting info from my doctor -- I had run out of Ritalin

(which needs a new prescription each time because it's a controlled

substance, and the script is only good for 7 days and the doc was late

sending it!) I still had some slow-release pills that we had tried once

and didn't seem to work as well but decided to take them so I wouldn't

start going through withdrawal. Found out from my new doc that

'slow-release' meds take a different type of stomach acid to breakdown and

I don't have it!! Explains why " Contact 12 hour pills " never worked for me

but 4 hr. Triaminicin did!! "
