Guest guest
Colin, I believe Jill has these articles on file in her computer because she has more space than I do, but I will track down whatever I can for you on this and get it to you post haste. I am not certain that exact dosages were given though. Jill is presently off to Singapore to take care of her own mother, who had a mild stroke also. I will repeat the warning here for all to take note of: if you are having any problem with bleeding in any way or are taking a blood- thinner for any reason, you would be wise to reconsider taking Ginko Biloba. I think there are other things that you can try to help your memory that do not carry this risk. Feeling guilty will accomplish nothing now, Colin. Your concern and devotion to your Mum are legendary on this post. You have had such a stressful year with the loss of your father and trying to nurse your mother back to health.....plus dealing with your own RLS. Hindsite always seems to be 20/20. Your life is busy with your business, and we tend to trust our health care providers to know what they are doing. Once a person has a stroke, I believe the chances for another one are always more likely. You will never know whether the Ginko caused it or not, so it is best to just move forward from here. So often I risk causing ill will toward myself because I am so concerned with trying to be cautious. I have decided that, as terribly upsetting as that is to me, I will have to continue to speak up. The biggest problem we are having to encounter with this is that people seem not to be able to accept scientific fact as easily as they accept anecdotal evidence. We all want to believe there is some magical, safe substance out there that we can ingest under our own supervision, after our own diagnosis.....under the watchful eye of ourselves and our local health food store. Quite often facts that should be very obvious to us are overlooked. I am not professing to know any more than anyone else in regard to this. I am not trying to force my will on anyone. The best thing that I can say for myself is that I have an open mind. I had decided to drop the subject of Homeopathy and let it die........that the points I wanted to make wouldn't have made that much difference anyway. I knew that I, myself, appreciated the tremendous amount of effort that had put into researching and passing along his valuable information....and in the long run, that was probably all that really mattered. I feel the need to rethink all of this now.........and I may be writing more about it......if I feel at all up to it. I promise I will give you fair warning so that you can easily avoid it. My one and only hope in doing this is that you all will just take a closer look. You will always be free to choose whatever kind of treatment you want and I will always be the first to defend your right to do this.
