Guest guest
Hello to all, Well, I've been experiencing something new! And I must say, I don't like it at all! I've had RLS for most of my life. I've never had it checked or confirmed by a doctor, but believe me, I've got it. I also have never really taken anything for it. Sometimes, when the symptoms would get really bad, I'd resort to some over the counter drug, but of course, never really gave them a chance either. It's only been the past few years that I've really notice the attacks getting worse and more frequent. They've been basically the same as many of you have explain to the group, creepy crawlies under the skin, uncontrollable need to get up and move around, cause if you don't, you're sure you'll go mental. In my family, we've always called them " nervies " or when I was really young " growing pains " . As far as I knew, I was the only one in my family that had it. but after finding this group (which BTW has been fantastic for me, because for years nobody every really believed what I was going through was real, until my sister found this site and said " hey, check it out, it IS actually called something!) Anyway, since finding all you great people, that walk the night, I come to find out after all these years, that my brother has it also. Too weird, he had never mentioned it. But since joining the group, and I've said this before, you guys have been taking this and that....and then maybe this and all those other things, that it's just way too confusing to figure out what's the right thing to take or where to even start, so I just haven't. but that's not why I'm writing (got a little of track, sorry) I've read some of you mentioning leg pains or cramps in the legs related to RLS, which I have experienced also BUT for the last 3 day I've been getting a sharp pain that starts on the outer part of my right ankle. Kinda like when you accidentally twist your ankle and you think, my God, it's broken! But, it's not, of course, but the pain you feel is so strong, that you just think to yourself, boy that was close, and you limp around for 15 mins or so and then you're OK. Well, that's the pain that I've been getting and if I continue to walk around I can tell that it's not going away. It's actually starting to get worse and proceeds to go from my ankle up my leg. To where I feel these little shoots of pain start at the ankle, then to the back of my knee then up to my hip. Now I've never had this happen before. Normally, with RLS I can just get up, walk around, and that will do it. But this is really painful. And it's only in my right leg. I've found that if I take 2 Tylenol and 2 advil that eventually the pain will subside. Now I hope this isn't just the next step, or the next phase that comes with age. Because as I've gotten older, my RLS has been getting worse, but I'd hate to have to think that this is going to stay and the God forbid, as I get even older, this new problem will eventually start in the other leg too. Geez, I got carried away and I don't even know if I made any sense! Ha! But, if anyone out there has a clue about what I'm talking about, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks for listening. And BTW, my butterflies were a little slow this weekend, trying to get restock, but they finally got their backpacks packed and are on their way...so be on the lookout!
