Guest guest
Donna- I am the one who had the exact injury you had! It took several months almost 3 I think before my arm straightened out- I never regained my grip- so my handwriting is pretty difficult to decipher. I did not do therapy- dr didnt think it would do any good...good luck in your recovery- Elena
Guest guest
I've been in an arm brace for three weeks and went to Dr. yesterday and he wants me to not wear it during the day and wear it at night and when out of house. I'm to do what I can with my arm as far as stretching it out on my own for the next four weeks. He'll see me then and decide if I will need therapy. He told me there was a possibility that the arm would not straighten out completely but he's hoping that it will. It feels funny without it on and just to type is therapy! My hand is turned in more and I've really got to work at it, even my handwriting has changed. He wants me to use a walker (but I have a scooter so won't use it much) for the next 4 wks. and he said I could go back to the forearm crutches. (I'm scared of them now.) Oh well, I had used them for 6 yrs. before the fall and had fell many times so I guess I'll still use them. The walker would be hard for me to get inbetween cars in garage and to fold up and get in van. I only walk short distances anyway usually just to load my scooter in the van, etc. I have been reading all the posts and will be posting now that I can type and I need the therapy!
