Guest guest
Deborah, There hasn't been a lot of proof that nutrition plays a part in RLS.. It's possible that a few vitamins could effect the amount of twitching you have, but you would need to determine this. It seems to be different for everyone. You ought to have your ferritin level checked......... low iron can very occasionally be a factor, but you should not supplement this item without your doctor telling you that it is needed. Too much can be very bad for you. Remember, you don't just want your iron tested..........you want a ferritin test. Magnesium can also very occasionally be a factor. A blood test will determine this. You should check out the RLS sites and read what they have to say. Jill Gunzel has a site pertaining to alternative medicine and therapy types of treatment, and you may find other things at all the other sleep disorder sites. Our group leader, Jodi Judson, lists some sites for you to check out. Some people seem to be getting help from a very expensive device called a Thumper, that I believe, just slaps away at your legs wherever you put it. You could probably try this in a tone or Sharper Image store. I think they have a site on line that may possibly tell you where to see it, but most likely, just tries to sell it. There are many suggestions of things such as stretching, toe raises, warm baths, etc. I'm sure you will get many ideas from the rest of the group., I will attach some links for you to check out. The WE MOVE site is particularly good. Just click on the hyperlinks.
