I am a CMT Mom and have 3 kids with CMT. I want to tell everyone that they

need an IEP at school under Other health impaired. The IEP will allow you to

request special things your child with CMT will need weather you think they

need it or not. Its good to have the option. Like an extra set of books at

home so the back pack is not heavy. Extra time to get to class after the bell

rings. A front spot in the cafeteria line so they don't have to stand in long

lines. A key to the elevator and an adult to get them on and off the

elevator. What ever helps your child have a safe and happy day with a

disability you can request. I am thinking of requesting bars to hold onto in

the hall ways. Think I will get it? I think they should be there anyway..

Please don't assume that others will look out for your chid. Get it in

wrighting. That is why we have the ADA. If people were always fare we would
