I have a different opinion on sleep centers

being able to diagnose RLS. While I did not need to be diagnosed as I

already knew what I had, my DR. was able to see how severe mine is

because we're not just talking " sleeptime " , but also " going to sleep "

time. I suffered for about an hour, not being able to get up and walk

around, because of being connected to the wires, and then was

disconnected for about an hour while my meds kicked in. I was then

reconnected, and slept while they watched me sleep. At one time, someone

posted that no one watches you sleep. In my sleep study, you were on

camera the entire time. So ----- in " my " sleep study, they were able to

check RLS, how the meds affected it, and what problems I had during my

sleep. It definitely was not necessary to have done, but I think it is a

pretty good idea

for your Dr. to watch you going to sleep and sleeping. This as we all

know is never a total picture of our " problem " , but for me, they were

able to see how awful it was for me just to attempt to lie down and go

to sleep. IMHO.
