Guest guest
Hello Joe and welcome to our group. I don't have any personal information on Pramipexole (Mirapex) but I do know that it is popular with some members. Like all the meds some have had rousing success with it and some have had failures. I'll let them give you their opinions and info. You've given me the opportunity to once again say how important this group has been for me. When I came upon it I had been given a number of meds for my RLS and all had failed me. One of the worst was Sinemet and it had been one of the first. It left me with a terrible rebound to the point where I had to take it every 3 hours around the clock to keep from going mad with RLS. So I was at a very low point when I became a newbie (that was a long time ago). One day someone mentioned Permax and how it was helping them. I had tried another dopamine agonist (Parlodel) and it had made me sicker than a pup even at a very low dose so it was with trepidation that I mentioned Permax to my doctor. Wonder of wonders my system accepted the Permax and we've been together for probably two years now. I've had to change dosages and times to take it but I've suffered no augmentation, rebound or nausea and have been able to resume a somewhat normal life. Oh, nothing's perfect. I still suffer RLS episodes but nothing like before and I thank my God for leading me to this group. Pramipexole is another med in the dopamine agonist family. I hope it works for your mother-in-law as well as the Permax has worked for me. Keep us posted!! CHEERS!!
