Guest guest
Dear Group: I know that quite a few of you have become gunshy about the length of posts, the topics of posts, etc.. We've been through a rough time here the last couple of weeks, which, unfortunately, is a part of being on a mailing list. And, even though I consider this more of a support group, it is still technically a mailing list. About the only things that I won't tolerate is rudeness and people joining this group in order to sell their wares to members. There are alot of people out there who like to take advantage of groups like ours, as they know that the majority of the members are vulnerable and can be taken. With our group, most of the members are so miserable from suffering from this disorder and being so sleep-deprived, they will try almost anything to get a decent night's sleep. I appreciate the people in the group that help me weed out the one's that are trying to take advantage of us, and I hope that you will continue. Once I'm made aware of a situation like this, I will take care of it promptly, and that person will not be able to subscribe again. I just want everybody to know that this group is here for us to support each other and to help each other get through living with this disorder. Other people's experiences with meds, doctors and other treatments have and their sharing of this information has helped numerous people over the years and that's the real purpose of this group. I want this group to continue to be a success and I will do everything possible, short of " moderating " each and every message before it goes to the group to keep it going as it has in the past. For those of you who have know me for some time, you know that I'm a go-getter. My get up and go has been pretty non-existent for quite some time due to these recurrent illnesses, but I can now say with certainty that I'm on the way back and I'm here for everybody. Here's hoping for restful nights to all of you. Jodi, 39, Nashville, Tn << By the same token, I really hate seeing people say that they are becoming too afraid to write because they are worried about doing the wrong thing. We should NOT be having that much of a problem with doing the wrong thing. We all know the important no-no's......no selling and no rudeness........brief social information and really good jokes are fine with most of us as long as they are labeled as such and are not extremely long.
