Guest guest
Hi Group and Dr. Levin: Read, with interest, the comments re Xanax vs. Valium. As Dr. Levin knows, i take the former. Sometimes i really freak out thinking about it's addictive properties but then when i read how others are taking mega drugs, don't feel quite so worried. It is really a Catch 22 when your Psych. sees < reason to decrease or change his prescription, yet the patient (that be me ) ) would like nothing more than to totally quit it. Xanax and heel/toe lifts are a winning combo as far as stopping my night-time RLS. The side effects of Xanax are what i hate. Loss of appetite causing weight loss is the main one i detest. The other one is " taboo " on here! LOL. Suffice to say.........it begins with " loss of......... " . My goal for 1999 is to < and i do mean < decrease the dosage i am on, unbeknownst to my Pyschiatrist. I know i can do it as i have already decreased from 4 1/2 mg to 3 1/2 mg. The Neurologist had me on Klonopin in addition to the Xanax, but i have successfully tapered off of it. It made no difference at all. FYI.....I started on Xanax due to a round of anxiety/panic disorder that occurred 8 years ago! Too long to be on any drug! There, i feel sooooo much better putting this in writing! Thanks for listening or did you immediately delete?? lol Happy New Year everyone! Betty 0000,0000,ffff BJN bjcanuck@...
