Guest guest
with only 5 weeks left of school she could easily be tutored at home. When I was 12 and had major surgery a friend would bring me my assignments and then the teachers would stop by off and on. With her being in 2nd grade and only having one teacher it should make it easier for you and the teacher. Being tutored can be fun. also: I'm glad to hear your getting her a hospital bed.... If I might suggest.... I needed a bar above my head to pull myself up so I could use the bed pan or just change positions. When I didn't have this bar (shape of a triangle hanging down on a chain from a bent bar that came up from the head of the bed and bent towards the foot of the bed for the chain and bar) don;t know what's it's called, it was almost impossible for me to move. Besides, staying home and reading great books with her Mom for a few weeks may be something she remembers the rest of her life. The sibling issue is one that I have tried to consider carefully. Simon blames himself for Alice's CMT. He provoked her into jumping off the couch 2 years ago and she sprained her ankle. Because amazing things sometimes stick in the minds of children, he says this is when she got CMT. He has also grown sensitive to the amount of attention she receives. We will also get a hospital bed which we will install in the family room on the first floor of the house. >>
