Hi everyone,

yesterday I came back from hospital. As most of you know I had a surgery

on both feet (achilles-tendon-lengthening and tibialis-posterior-tendon

transfer). I was very afraid of the surgery but everything went well. I

now have 5 scars on both feet. The pain after the surgery is not so bad,

you have pain but the medicine worked and still works very well.

After two days in bed I tried to stand on my feet but I hadn't the

strenght in my legs. The third day it was a bit better and the fourth

day I started walking with crutches. Now I am able walking without them

but I need somebody/something next to me to keep me. I have problems

with my balance because I have lost it. The doctor said it can take 8

weeks to get the balance back.

A little success is that I can lift my feet a few cm. The tibialis

posterior does not work right yet, this also can take 3 to 6 weeks. As

the doctors said it will take 6 months to walk and stand more secure on

my feet.

Bye,

Sometimes I think secretaries 'think' they should have control of

everything! And I AM a secretary! But especially doctor's secretaries!

What a bother! Keep us informed , and best of luck and lots of prayers

to you.

Love Lana 0 :-)

Thank you for the good thoughts. I like what you siad that they think

you are lax in the heead when it's the laxity everywhere else that is the

problem. I'll have to remember that. Talking to my surgeon about his

secretary is not a good idea she likes to be in control and she would make

things more difficult for me. My surgeon is great and he tells me how it is

and wants me to go into surgery with my eyes open and I appreciate that.

I'm sorry it took me so long to get back I really just got going through my

e-mails last night. I live in Dashwood which is north of London Ontario. I

really am lucky to have in my life and I know it.

Thanks
