That's because her liver function isn't what it should be - as far as I know! They said they do alot of liver stuff. Its quite a big health push here in Australia for Liver cleansing stuff and liver cleansing diets. Her liver function tests were high (or low, whichever is worst!) so they said she needed it. Re: final question Kate, Is that a herbal thing or a presciption drug? His liver enzymes were so high, that his liver was basically completely clogged and not funtioning. His stool was stone white. Within a few weeks/month, this medicince cleared it out, and his liver enzymes returned to normal, and he has been taking it twice a day every day since. It is also used for the gall bladder. Guest guest Posted April 30, 2002 Report Share Posted April 30, 2002 Hi , My son , 13 years old with cf, used to take ursofalc which is made from bear bile (I don't know if this is the proper way to say it in English). He began is liver problems at age of 7, but being a special and unique case, that medication didn't give the expected results on him. Doctors explained us that most of the time, this medication is very effective with cf children and adults with a liver problem. I even had the chance to talk to some parents who confirmed me that fact. On the other hand, I asked the gastro doctors if there's a naturopatic product to help and they warned me to be very careful with that because in some cases, things got worst.
