Trella,

Thanks for your response. I was just about to make a salad for

lunch. We've been on SCD for 7 days, and are in stage 3. Boy, I'd

love to have a salad. I'm doing the diet with my son. I guess I was

rushing it. The reason I'm in a hurry is that he goes back to

college in about a week and a half, and I was hoping to have some

indication if this diet is going to help him before then, since he'll

have to implement it himself while there. He's always been 100%

compliant with all his diets, and prepares much of his own food while

at school, but cooking takes more time than salads, and he has a tiny

kitchen.

So here are my questions for you.

--How long did it take before you saw any changes in bowels? He's

already been grain free, egg free, casein free, spice free, meat

free, and anything-he-reacts-to free for years, so it might take

longer for us to see any changes.

--What did you do for constipation while you were waiting for the

diet to work? I'm terribly afraid of his getting autointoxicated and

can't use the herbal laxative we were using any more (it never gave

him good stools, just hard to push out diarrhea, but at least it got

it out).

--Can you tell me what your daughter eats on a typical day?

Thanks so much.

Right now I'm cooking the lettuce, tomato, and cucumber instead.

Thanks Trella,

That's very comforting that you saw changes so quickly. I had to

move out of the first two stages right away since there weren't

enough foods to eat, since we need to rotate due to food intolerances

developing. But now I see that as long as I keep things cooked for a

while, maybe we'll see some results.

I guess your daughter was able to eat eggs from the start, since you

mentioned pancakes. Eli hasn't been able to eat eggs for years, and

is not willing to try them since his reactions were not good the last

few times. He also eats very limited animal protein due to

intolerances and preference.

Thanks again, a H.

Trella,

I'm wondering if your daughter is on the spectrum, or does she have a

different problem. Does she eat goat yogurt?

Trella,

I'm sorry to pester you, but this is very important to me. The

reason it is is that Eli has been eliminating foods for 9 years now,

never been able to add back more than a few. He can't eat beef,

pork, lamb, eggs, most fish (mercury), and really doesn't like

poultry all that much. He's an ovo-lacto vegetarian at heart. But

he's terrified to try eggs or dairy again, since he doesn't like the

reactions he gets. So I want to ask you how you know for sure that

the cow yogurt is ok for your daughter? Do you use any lab testing

to make sure there are no opiates or casein markers getting into her

blood stream? Is she a recovered pdd? We need some hope for the

future here. Hope you don't mind.

Also Trella, what kind of milk do you use for the cow yogurt?

Thanks, a H.

Trella,

I'm sure I'm not the only one waiting to hear that you are all ok.

Trella

Thank god you are all right. My prayers and thoughts are with those

that have lost families and belongings. There is a family here in N.

Ireland awaiting news of their son. What a terrible tragedy, kinda

put things into perspective.

I wish you well
