Guest guest
, I do not wan to butt in however maybe you should explain to the pastors wife however good her intentions are the correct protocol is God's will then my will..Not the pastor's wife's will. Maybe you could ask her to pray for what you feel is best for you! After all IM sure you have been praying all along. Just my 2 cents. Guest guest
When I first starting praying about this surgery, I prayed for God to help me learn His plan for me. I also prayed that this surgery would be His answer if at all possible. However, I kept trying to keep an open mind in case it was not His answer. BUT IT WAS!!!!! If your pastor's wife is praying for you, she should be praying that God shows you His way, not her way, not your way. He will listen to everyone, but He will show you His way. Pls keep praying and her prayer group's prayers can't hurt. God knows.... I'm sure there are other more mature Christians on this list who will put this much better than I can - and with a great scripture reference as well. You are in my prayers. Our interim pastor and wife are very dear, very dedicated folks. My Problem......This dear saint, since finding out that I am having this surgery, keeps bringing me different diet books on how to combine the right foods to lose weight. Last night she let it slip that she has all of the seniors praying that God will undertake and I will not have to have this surgery. I'm a little mad but not too because she doesn't understand when I tell her I have tried everything ALL MY LIFE to get slim. She tells me she can't diet because she loves her desserts. She isn't overly overweight but she doesn''t want to hear anything I have to say and believe me I don't really want to say that much to her because she will go and pray the opposite. YIKES!!!!!!!! Who is God going to listen to. I'm sure he listens to both sides to a story. (All the time all other the world).... I am PS... I have asked/told her I have read every diet book (and tried them) out there and in fact I could start my own bookstore with them along with all the diet articles in magazines I have bought. As a matter of fact I went into a storage closet I have and actually pulled out half a garbage bag of diet aids I have bought over the last couple of years and tried and failed at but saved because I might try them again, in the future. I probably have at least 150 woman's magazines in the last couple of years that I have saved, hoping one day I will try them again and they will work. I once attended a marketing seminar about 5 yrs. ago and the leader said there are three D's that sell magazines. Diet, Death and . Guest guest
God listens to us all, as we know. Don't let yourself think that she has more pull with the man upstairs because she is the pastor's wife. God loves you and knows what you need - that is why he led you here. She is just trying to do what she feels is right...however, she sounds like she doesn't know what is right for YOU! Hang in there, girl. Marilyn Who is God going to listen to. Guest guest
~~ What a hard thing to have to tolerate. I'm sure you have much respect for your pastor and his wife, but it's a very private decision. The reason why she is against it, is because she is uneducated.........but if she isn't willing to learn, than nothing can be done. Just tell her thanks, but no thanks, that you would rather she spend her energies praying for a positive outcome with the surgery. I won my family over through education, but we're all in the medical field, so at least we have a basic understanding. I'm sorry she's trying to make you doubt a decision that you've made to improve your life. Do what you feel is best in your heart---- six months after surgery she will have to eat her words. :-)) fg At 10:00 AM 05/08/2000 -0700, you wrote: >Hi Everyone: We recently lost our Pastor and staff due to a church split. Guest guest
Maybe you should clue her in on the fact that this surgery is the *answer* to your prayers already and you would appreciate prayers for your continued good health and success. You've got mine, at any rate. Hugs. > Hi Everyone: We recently lost our Pastor and staff due to a church split. Our interim pastor and wife are very dear, very dedicated folks.
