This is one of our favorite dishes right now! :-)

I take about 10 prunes (for the 4 of us) and put them in a small pan. I

just barely cover them with water and throw in a cinnamon stick and

simmer for an hour or so. Then I chop them up before serving - and

serve with some of the liquid. Yum!

If prunes are rehydrated by soaking for twelve hours, then simmered in the

strained liquid

for three hours, are they still considered " dried fruit " and only for advanced

and cautious

use?

When you cook it and rehydrate it it isn't dry (dehydrated) anymore.

It won't be quite the same as raw fruit that you cook, but should be

easier to digest then dried.
