I just barely cover them with water and throw in a cinnamon stick and simmer for an hour or so. Then I chop them up before serving - and serve with some of the liquid. Yum! Guest guest
If prunes are rehydrated by soaking for twelve hours, then simmered in the strained liquid for three hours, are they still considered " dried fruit " and only for advanced and cautious use? Guest guest
Hi Carol, > If prunes are rehydrated by soaking for twelve hours, then simmered in the strained liquid > for three hours, are they still considered " dried fruit " and only for advanced and cautious When you cook it and rehydrate it it isn't dry (dehydrated) anymore. It won't be quite the same as raw fruit that you cook, but should be easier to digest then dried.
