Hi Janie, glad your staying on the list. By the way when was your surgery

date? Great weight loss.

Re: 5 Months Post Op PICS!!!

Hubba hubba! You go, girl! Fantastic!

> Hi Everyone: We recently lost our Pastor and staff due to a church

split. Our interim pastor and wife are very dear, very dedicated

folks. My Problem......This dear saint, since finding out that I am

having this surgery, keeps bringing me different diet books on how to

combine the right foods to lose weight. Last night she let it slip

that she has all of the seniors praying that God will undertake and I

will not have to have this surgery. I'm a little mad but not too

because she doesn't understand when I tell her I have tried

everything

ALL MY LIFE to get slim. She tells me she can't diet because she

loves her desserts. She isn't overly overweight but she doesn''t

want

to hear anything I have to say and believe me I don't really want to

say that much to her because she will go and pray the opposite.

YIKES!!!!!!!! Who is God going to listen to. I'm sure he listens

to

both sides to a story. (All the time all other the world).... I am

still going to have the surgery but I've often wondered who wins

here.

The Human Spirit that decides to do it, anyway?????? Just a

question. I was really dumbfolded last night after the service when

she told me she was praying I wouldn't have the surgery. Take care

everyone.

> PS... I have asked/told her I have read every diet book (and tried

them) out there and in fact I could start my own bookstore with them

along with all the diet articles in magazines I have bought. As a

matter of fact I went into a storage closet I have and actually

pulled

out half a garbage bag of diet aids I have bought over the last

couple

of years and tried and failed at but saved because I might try them

again, in the future. I probably have at least 150 woman's magazines

in the last couple of years that I have saved, hoping one day I will

try them again and they will work. I once attended a marketing

seminar about 5 yrs. ago and the leader said there are three D's that

sell magazines. Diet, Death and . Isn't it interesting when a

magazine wants to increase a sluggish market they will print the word

DIET ON THE FRONT.

Where can I get information on this from? or could you share the information

with the list (or me off list) when it comes?

My Grandfather (he of the velvet dinner skirt and the sheep, I must have

told you...) had an interesting funeral. He'd bought a burial cloth in

Africa - double sized - and wanted to be cremated just in half of that - he

cut it up and the other half's for his gf. However, the funeral directors

were unhappy about handling a corpse in only a shroud. Don't know why, as

this is how it's done virtually everywhere else. Grumpy was quite adamant

he didn't want a wooden coffin, though, so managed to find a cardboard one

from somewhere, which was then draped with his shroud (which was beautiful),

in the end. His service was in a church, but conducted by the family not

the vicar. He was cremated, and scattered half in E Sussex and half in the

Masai Mara - he was also adamant he had to be thrown into an elephant's

footprint. His will was read by my uncle at the wake and included a clause

that we are all to be kind to ginger cats as that is how he hopes to return.
