Guest guest
Ana, I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. In my biomedical book by Pangborn andBaker it talks about a regression (mostly behavioral) at the 5 month mark, but it is possible to have it earlier. Is his symptoms gastro or behavioral? I definately think Sheila, Carole, or Jody would be better able to help you with any medical condition. There tends to be a regression about every 2 mos with ASD kids up to about the 9-10 month mark. Peyton just had a terrible regression at the 5 month mark, but as I said, it was mostly behavioral. I tested his bm today and there was no blood! (yea!) Last two CSA showed blood in the stool. I hope things get better for you soon! Tammy Peyton 2.5 asd (scd 5 1/2mos)
Guest guest
Carol, I think that is a fabulous idea!! Maybe we could even contribute to the SCD chapter in subsequent DAN! manuals. I think this information would prove invaluable for parents " starting their journey " I think we need to be careful to only send a response, if we kept a specific journal of events and not just rely on memory. Maybe parents who are not keeping a time log so to speak could start now, especially if just starting the diet with an ASD child. What do you think? Guest guest
> > Tammy: > We started the diet the second week of June, we are now doing exactly > 4 months. What does the 5 months mark mean? Would those who have had their children on SCD for some time give feedback on when the first and subsequent regressions occured? Since we are nearing 2000 members the informtion would really be interesting. BTW: If you are wondering about the info from Judy Gorman, She has a support list for parents whose children are patients of Dr. Sidney Baker. They call themselves " Dr. Moms. " They gave Elaine a special tribute and plaque at the Washington DAN Conference and a really funny list of ten things that happen to you on SCD. One was " getting to talk about your children's poop. " Also, " listening to others describing their children's poop. " Another was " spending your monthly income on almond flour. " Since our list is rapidly approaching 2000 our anecdotal feedback would be of value. Carol F. SCD 5 years, celiac

Hi, Glenn has been 100% SCD (food, and most supps) since 3.01.05 (He was nearly 80% in the months before). We had a bout of strange stool D and rump rash) about the 2 mo mark, the 4mo mark and about two weeks ago. Better connected and better gut function after each. Weirdly enough, usually preceded by firm stool and occasionally a 24hr stool-free pd just before this rxn. -christine
