Guest guest
Hi Group, I have been taking very low-dose accutane now for two months for early stage rhinophyma. My nose continues to improve. There is no more oil, blackheads, and a lot less inflammation and swelling. The texture of the skin on my nose has also returned to normal; prior to accutane, my nose was starting to get that funky " orange peel " look. I still have morning swelling, but it is now confined to the tip of my nose as opposed to the whole nose. The only side effect I now have is dry lips, although the first month I experienced some fatigue, headaches & muscle aches. My doctor is increasing my dosage to 15mg per day, which we hope will shrink several small lumps at the tip of my nose. I still get red and swollen when I cry, but otherwise, I experience almost no facial redness. I looked at my nose today in several mirrors that were previously off-limits. It is definitely beginning to look more " normal, " although I still have long way to go. I will continue to follow Dr. Nase's regimen for rhinophyma, as I believe this is the best shot we have at controlling the condition and putting it into remission. Good luck, Heidi
