Hi,

The antibiotics have probably disrupted the good bacteria in her gut,

and this is causing the loose stools.

Get some plain yogurt into her diet (must only buy yogurt that says

live acidolphilus cultures), and also buy a probiotic. You can buy

probiotics without a prescription at your pharmacy or health food

store. Ask the pharmacist to recommend one.

Probiotics restore the good intestinal flora; without it she'll

continue having runny stools and not only will she loose calories,

but she won't be able to manufacture vitamin K. Your body makes

vitamin K in the intestines from the good intestinal flora.

In the meantime, don't give her apple juice; it will make diarrhea

worse. I don't remember Shelby's age, but a light diet (white rice,

chicken soup, no-fat Saltines, Pedialyte, Gatorade-type drinks) is

best until digestion is properly restored. If she's only on formula,

then you can dilute with Pedialyte for a day or two until tummy

settles.

cough seems to be better but she still has a runny nose although it is

smell like old cabbage. We have tried everything i.e. more creon,

less creon, she isn't eating much at the moment anyway so we don't

think it can be not enough enzymes. She is also on Ranatadine (spel)

and that has been upped lately from 2.5 to 3 ml could that cause the

problem or is it possible she has picked up that blinking C Dif again?

Anyway she is going back to the clinic on Monday so hopefully they

can help us.

Good catch, I do have him off sulfites, so maybe that's it. I'll

give it a try and see what happens. Thanks.

is having a reaction to this preservative? Try the purple grape juice

and see if there is a change.

I am also sensitive to Welch's White Grape juice so bought some green grapes and

put

them through my Omega 8002 juicer and got a wonderful tasting pure juice.

How were 's bm's before you started the diet? How many per

day? Diarrhea/Constipation etc.?

What other veggies? Are the veggies cooked? Did you start with the

intro and gradually add foods in?
