Guest guest
Yes, we tried GFCF for about 3 months and had no improvement in her bowel problems which was what brought us to SCD. We started with the intro for about 2 weeks and then introduced goat yogourt and then goat cheddar. After a while I introduced the cow dairy products. Currently she eats goat yogourt with honey after every meal(she prefers the taste of goat to the cow yogourt). We make ice cream and cream cheese with cow's yogourt , she eats lots of different cow cheeses and I cook with the DCCC a lot. I can't remember her ever having a problem with dairy. Curiously enough, even after all this time on SCD, she still has to be careful of apple peels and go easy on lettuce and raw carrots. It's really up to the individual what they want to try. I've tried always to judge foods on her bowel function and not on behaviour as that can be influenced by so many different factors. Best of luck. mom to 6yr old daughter ASD, scd 2 years On Nov 17, 2005, at 1:25 PM, pecanbread wrote: > Hi , > > > > Since beginning SCD four months ago (after previously being only GFCF) > with > my son, we have continued to try to avoid casein. Guest guest
, This is helpful. I think we're going to consider going back and doing the intro diet (which I admit, we never did). But it's nice to know that he might eventually get to have cheddar cheese (his favorite) again. Thank you!
