Guest guest
Hi- I've had a couple folks tell me that it's a good idea to change or rotate probiotics to keep getting the maximum benefit. I've been using the same yogurt starter for a year now (Progurt), and don't use other probiotics. Might it be a good idea to switch to the CP starter for a while to get a different strain in there? Essentially the switch would add l. acidophilus and drop l. casei. Thanks! Cindy mom to asd daughter, 4.5, scd 13 months.

It is hard to say beacause everyone has different reactions and different things/combinations of issues. If you decide to try CP yogurt starter it may be a good idea to do it gradually. Use a little less of the Progurt and start a little CP, then a little more CP and less Progurt until fully doing the CP. I wouldn't suggest stopping the yogurt and then trying the other because you may get die off which could be confused with intolerance. Another option is to either or also add in some homemade sauerkraut. Homemade sauerkraut uses the natural bacteria in the cabbage and can be a fantastic probiotic source. The " good guy " bacteria is Lactobacillus plantarum. If not ready for cabbage you can drink (or mix with other uncooked foods some of the liquid that contains the probiotic.
