Guest guest
Hi all My son(autistic) is SCD for over 4 months now. Has yeast and bacterial overgrowth. We have not introduced honey, or much fruit - We really havn't moved much chicken soup, veg and meat. One thing that is difficult about SCD is that my child has no motivation to feed himself. He had great feeding skills and now I am feeding him constantly. As time has passed he just seems totally bored with the diet I understand that this diet is to heal the gut and you introduce things slowly one at a time etc, watch for reactions (that is basically what I have been doing) I like this diet, but to stay on it I would like to know if one just gives child SCD foods despite having yeast etc. in no particular order and just keeps on SCD will the child eventually stop reacting to foods and get rid of yeast through time even though foods may aggravate at the beginning? Thanks Aileen

When you write bacterial growth do you mean something like C. diff etc.? Are you using any treatments for yeast other than diet, prescription meds, enzymes etc.? > One thing that is difficult about SCD is that my child has no > motivation to feed himself. It would depend on what foods and how severe a reaction. Sheila
