Well I am going to try the distilled water too, thanks for sharing this.

Also I have been posting about Colliodal Silver, started using it topically

a few weeks ago and I can't believe the difference in my skin. The redness

goes away in a few hours. I am dabbing it on the bad spots once a day, but

have just increased that to twice a day.

I also use Tea Tree Oil Soap to wash my face. It is the only soap I've been

able to use since using Cetiphil 8 years ago. I stopped using it because I

didn't like all the ingredients in it. I think my rosacea was triggered by

a facial peel I used and I would be careful of these, To exfoliate my

facial skin I just used my hands and rubbed in circles when washing my face,

this is best done with out any soap and just a bit of water. But since

using the Tea tree oil soap I haven't had ANY dry skin on my face. The kind

I have is made by Desert Essence.

I would call mine a mild case now, I'm not using any medications. For me it

started about 6 years ago. it started around my eyes and I had that for

about 8 months or so then it completely went away. Then about 6 months

later it started on my face. It did get pretty bad and I used the Metr. gel

on it which seemed to help but never got any better until 2 years ago I

started using the Tea tree oil soap just by accident, my niece had lice and

they where using it so I tried it and have been using it ever since. It

alone has helped bring better condition to my skin. But the silver has been

a very noticeable improvement in such a short time, I'd like to find out if

it could do the same for others. It is pretty expensive but you don't need

to use very much.

Hi Kim,

Where and how does someone obtain Colliodal Silver.

What is it?? Does it help with the red bumps that

rosacea causes?

Thanks for any info you can give!

You can find it at any health food store. Coliodal Silver is the metal

silver broken down into very small particals and suspended in distilled

water. for more info here are a few links....

Jeannette and Kim,

According to the Highlights section on the rosacea support group website,

Colloidal Silver could prove to be dangerous (under the Warnings section):

" Safety is an issue, too. If

I was wondering if you guys had read that and what you think about it.

Thanks,

Michele

I did look into this concern too and this is what I have found....Taken from

an article at

http://www.oikourgos.com/silverworks/cs-info1.html

What I do is take vitamin E, and I drink plenty of fluids to help

eliminate silver, although it is largely excreted through the GI tract.

I also advise reading full articles, not just vague, misleading internet

abstracts on colloidal silver and other silver products. All of the " scare "

articles pertain to other silver solutions, not colloidal silver, which has

been around for years. Studies on silver proteins (of much greater

particle concentration) and silver salts (i.e., silver nitrate, silver

sulfate) do not accurately depict true nature of electro-colloidal silver.

Both have much more silver in them and are much more concentrated than the

solution I use. It is those products that, though effective, are

associated with argyria, or blue-gray staining of the skin and organs due to

excessive use and accumulation of such high-dosed solutions, especially when

used over a long period of time.

Remember: you are already getting some silver in foods and drinks you use.

The concentration of silver in a weak electro-colloidal solution is similar

to that: 3-10 parts per million! Please get and read the article below and

you will find that at this dilution, the amount of silver one would get

taking reasonable amounts of weak CS falls within the acceptable range for

daily intake (referred daily dose). This is a good article as well as

copies of web info sited below would be to discuss with your physician.*

Bear in mind, even the confirmed cases of argyria (due to highly

concentrated silver salts and silver proteins) are rare. A very good review

of studies on silver salts and silver proteins to help get things in

perspective is: * " Silver Product for Medical Indications: Risk-Benefit

Assessment. " (Man C. Fung, MD; Debra L. Bowen, MD, Clinical Toxicology,

34,(1), 119-126, 1996. Now don't just settle for an abstract; get the whole

article and read it carefully. (A good place to call would be your local

hospital library or a college or university library that has a medical

program). There's actually some useful implications in it for CS users,

regarding " referenced daily dose " and potential usefulness of antioxidents

among other points of interest that you can glean from this " scientific "

review of literature on silver salts and proteins.

I have bought it at Food stores (Save on Foods) here in Canada and at Roots,

a Health Foods store. Here is a link where you can ask for the closest

store near you. The product is called Thoroughly Clean Face Wash.

My understanding is the blue skin thing stops if you stop the silver. And

you have to drink gallons to get enough in your system to turn your skin blue

to begin with. Like with anything else I thinnk moderation would be the

wisest step.

I'm not the karen that wrote but a diffrent one with the same experience. I

SCUBA, and every time we go on vacation, often it's to Cozumel, my face

clears up a great deal, but then again so do my sinuses - I've always

attributed it to the salt water and better food (for me). I also drink more

water there (bottled of course) since dehydration is a factor in

decompression sickness. Maybe a combo of internal hydration, external salt

water, fresh(er) air, better nutrition and less allergins? Could I get my

inusrance to pay for medical trips to the ocean or write it off my taxes as

necessary medical treatment? I wish!
