About 10 minutes after taking it, I had the most horrible sensation. My mind just all of a sudden felt like it wasn't functioning. I began having trouble breathing, my pulse started racing, and I got all clammy. I almost called 911 but decided to wait a few minutes and see if it got better. After a while it got better and then I fell asleep. I have taken the mepergan quite frequently over the past few weeks. I've also taken flexaril tons of times over the years. However, I haven't had a flexaril in months because I don't think I've had any muscle type things going on. Has anyone ever had this happen? Do you think it was just the combination of the meds? " : Flexeril is usually pretty safe. Hwever, I would not try that combo again and I wouold be very cautious with the mephragan. My mom has had demerol and phenergan amny times, the last time she had them (IM) she became very hypoxic (her O2 sats dropped to 60) and she had to go on oxygen. not to mention she wasn't talking right. So my thought is it was more thatn likely the pain meds and not the flexeril. Upon further thought though ( oh,no stand back,,,I'm thinking again) Narcotcs can cause resp depression. skelaxin is a muscle relaxer, our major mechanism of breathing is a muscle...the diaphragm. so who knows??. I just know I wouldn't do it again. and if it ever happens again go immediately to the ER or call 911. Next time it may not get better. Just my $0.02 worth. Guest guest
, Thanks. I'll forego the combination in the future. The flexaril didn't help my back at all anyway. I really do not believe it is a muscle pain despite what the pcp says. Any time I've had muscular back things (and I've had tons) flexaril always helps. Also, when it's muscular, simply letting my back rest (by leaning back in a chair or recliner) helps almost instantly. With this, even the slightest touch is very painful. ----- Re: back pain- > You said: > " > Also, last night I took a mepergan (demerol and phenergan) and a > flexaril thinking if it was muscle, the flexaril would help.
