Guest guest Posted May 22, 2000 Report Share Posted May 22, 2000 I agree a PCA pump has to be started by Anesthesia and they have to assist with Transferring you to Recovery therefore if Dr. Order make it a routine order for a PCA Pump unless the patient states not to have one, it would/could be done in the recovery room. The only problem with the PCA pump is it delay early ambulating because one someone must assist you being on a control drug. Something to think about.
