Guest guest
Make sure he is drinking PLENTY of fluids (water, juice, soup). During the day. If he is dehydrated that will make his constipation worse. If he can drink Orange Juice (fresh squeezed, I don't know if there is any brand without sugar and preservatives) give him some as soon as he gets up in the morning. Elaine describes in her book a recipe: Boil some prunes in orange juice and blend. You can give him that syrup (about 1 TBS) as a rememdy for constipation. Finally, our nutriologist gave us a Vitamin C cure: You have to get some legal Ascorbic Acid (Vit. C). Start with the recommended dose, or even half of that (say 1/2 tsp, if it is powder, or 1 tablet). 30 minutes later you give him another. 30 minutes later, another one... etc... Too much Vit. C causes diarrhea, that is why you give them Vit. C. Make a note of how much vit. C TOTAL he needs in order to produce a BM. Say you had to give him 2000 mg total before he went to the bathroom. Then, you keep him in 1/2 that dose (1000 mg) of Vit. C, as a preventive measure. If stools are too soft, then you work on decreasing the amount of Vit. C intake. You can also try to give him a pediatric enema. Sea water is supposed to be the best to clean the gut. Good luck! Guest guest
Thank you so much for the response, Cllen finally went to the bathroom on Sunday morning. It was very painful to pass the first motion but he is getting better each time he has gone since.
