Is this diet at all biblical? There is alot mentioned in the Bible regarding eating grains such as rice and barley. Why would that be in the Bible if it is bad for us? I hope I am not too off base in my answer, but this is how I see it. We are not AGAINST rice, barley, wheat or any other whole food, this diet is in place for people with injured guts, for whatever reason. People with injured guts cannot tolerate hard to digest foods (and we are in no way saying that it is God's fault that are guts are in bad shape) We are trying to heal these guts with easy to digest food, food not easily digested by an injured gut is left to feed yeast and bad microbes. By all means if you have a healthy gut and can handle rice and barley more power to you! For example if you have an IGE allergy to milk (which is also in the bible) you cannot have milk, but you don't expect others not to drink it or say that it is bad for everybody. Your human body just rejects it. Of course, didn't they eat locusts in the bible too? I hope someone else will give you an answer as well. I have read somewhere that the grains in the Bible could have been harvested and stored differently so it was sprouted, thus changing the nature of the grain. Perhaps that's a long shot, though. Guest guest
I think I read somewhere once that the locusts that were eaten in Biblical times were actually beans and not insects. I could be wrong about that. I couldn't imagine being hungry enough to eat insects. > > >Of course, didn't they eat locusts in the > bible too? I hope someone else will give you an answer as well.
