Guest guest
Hi Jenn, > But, it's not as strong using the nuts for the milk instead of animal milk > right? Nut yogurt doesn't have as many CFU's/mL as animal milk yogurt. If you mean strong as in stong tasting - I don't know, I haven't made it. Guest guest
Hi Jenn, > Would it increase the potency if I were to add acidophilus? And, do I add it > after or before I make the yogurt? Jenn & Kali 95% SCD 5 months If you add probiotic L. acidpohilus after incubating 24 hrs, then yes you'll have more bacteria in it. You could probably open a capsule of acidophilus or add L. acidophilus probiotic powder after the yogurt is finished incubating. If you are looking for dairy free yogurt starter that already has L. acidophilus along with L. bulgaricus and S. thermophilus Custom Probiotics has one. Guest guest
Hi Jenn, > Then, the Custom Probiotics starter has more of the recommended bacteria in > it per SCD for non dairy ASD kids as opposed to the GiProHealth starter? > Jenn & Kali(autism, PICA, immune deficiency, oral apraxia, allergies, > constipation) 95% SCD 5 months No, not more just different strains. The strains you need to make yogurt are S. thermophilus and L. bulgaricus. Lactobacillus acidophilus is okay to have in yogurt, but not necessary. Elaine approved the GI ProHealth which has S. thermophilus and L. bulgaricus and also has Lactobacillus casei. The difference is one has Lactobacillus acidophilus and one has Lactobacillus casei. Both are good starters. Some people use yogurt and Probiotic powder/capsules. Sheila, SCD 56 mos, 21 yrs UC mom of , SCD 41 mos
