Also are there > any other ways to make the chicken broth more exciting when you first > start this? We generally recommend to start with the intro diet for a few days and then adding progressively more complex to digest foods http://pecanbread.com/foodprep.html#intro But if you can't (child just won't eat, allergic etc.) then using the easiest to digest foods that they will eat is the second best thing to do. There is a dairy free bread recipe at http://pecanbread.com/recipes.html along with some pancake and flatbread recips Nut free dairy free bread recipe at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pecanbread/files/ (which my son loves - it is very light). You can use these to make sandwiches to take to school. Homemade jam (sweetened with honey if needed) is pretty easy to make. There is a recipe at the link above under " Miscellaneous " , more at http://www.scdrecipe.com/r_023_00007.html and also in BTVC book. Although homemade fruit leather is legal it isn't generally recommended for newbies because it is concentrated and can feed the gut bugs you are trying to starve out. Hw about homemade applesauce or pearsauce for school lunches. You can make nut crackers in small pieces to replace the cheerios.
