Guest guest
Hi Jim & Jennie, Just thought I'd post on the drinking issue/constipation. Is she dehydrated? It's probably nothing but I'd get her checked for diabetes just in case as these are the warning signs I missed and wished I'd known about. They are simple tests at the drs/emergency dept - a urine test and a finger prick to test a blood glucose level. Cheers Vicki - on 27/9/05 8:40 AM, Jim & Jennie at jlessard@... wrote: Sheila, I tried to sneak some zucchini in my muffins but, she still won't eat any of my baked goods except for the peanut butter brownies and the spicy walnut cookies. She picks the nuts out of the cookies and leaves the rest. She also just picks at the brownies but, eats more of them than the cookies. She does drink an extreme amt. everyday. Peeing at least 20 x's a day- not exaggerating! I know her constipation can't be caused from not drinking enough. We haven't put her on any supplements yet. I am trying to find the right ones and the right dose. How do you know if your child needs supplements? Can't some supplements get held up in the body and make you sick? I tried to get her tested to see if she needs more of something (vitamins & minerals). I cannot find a Dr. that will do this. We cannot use any Dr.'s that don't take medicaid because we can't afford treatment. It's been extremely difficult to keep her on this diet because it is more expensive than the traditional american food we were eating before. I can't even get the yogurt starter right now. Thank you for all your help. Anyone respond. Jenn & Kali 95% SCD 4 months cessage -----

How about gradually adding some peeled zucchini (shredded and cooked) to the peanut butter brownies. Start with a little so the taste doesn't change too much and gradually increase the amount. Guest guest
Thanks Sheila. I think I'll work with the pb brownies. Does anyone know which veggies are the highest in calcium? I am still wondering how people know if their child is deficient in vitamins or nutrients.? I read an article from autismanswer.com about excessive glutamate and low levels of PST( phenol enzyme) in autistic individuals. I would like to know which foods are SCD legal to use in the diet that can be most beneficial to my daughter considering these specific and interesting findings.
