Guest guest
I would like to try some nut butter/flour but still battling with yeast and constipation. Should I wait until this gets better before introducing nut butter or flour I have stopped eggs yesterday to see if that helps so diet is limited to meat (all SCD) and veg and fruit. Any help appreciated Foods at the moment - All SCD meat, peach, pear, nectarine, all pureed (was using banana but advised to stop due to constipating)veg- brocolli, celery, leek, peppers, onion, squash, green beans, carrots, brussel sprouts mostly in soups and juiced and just a little of each. Thanks Aileen Mum to Cian (7) SCD 9 weeks
Guest guest
For whatever it's worth, in the early days, pecan flour muffins (with pureed squash as an egg substitute) were the key to getting my dd's stools to keep moving. Also, as I wrote previously the broccoli, brussel sprouts may be contributing to the constipation (both are in the cabbage family). If still having problems after pulling these and introducing the nut muffins you may have to remove celery and onions until things start moving. (both are fibrous and may be making constipation worse). Also are the peppers skinned - the skins ar hard for some to digest. Guest guest
Hi Jody I took the sprouts out for over a week but Cian didn't improve. I just introduced the broccoli (he has only had it once and today) so I don't think it is the culprit for the constipation I mean. celery and onion s are in the soup and blended so it is just juice really - Would they be still a problem in this way? I introduced a tiny little bit of pepper to a cassrole 2 days ago but it was again all juiced down. I hadn't skinned it no but it was all liquidised. Is this still a problem? I give 1/4 teaspoon of yoghurt today. he took it no problem and later asked me for more (hope that is a good sign?) He had a bowel movement tonight after his epson bath and a suspository, very smelly very yeasty. Hope this is the start of more to come!!! Think Jody I'll leave the nuts for another while just to see if I can get him cleaned out. thanks so much for your response. I really needed feedback and I know you all are so busy with your own. Yes, they could be. > I introduced a tiny little bit of pepper to a cassrole 2 days ago but > it was again all juiced down. I hadn't skinned it no but it was all > liquidised. Is this still a problem? Even if all cooked and pureed there is a lot of extra fiber and cellulose in the skins (same with the " strings in celery " ). Pureeing it may help a bit but it could still be a contributor to constipation. If the body is not healed enough to digest it then it feeds the nasties. Some have to wait a while on onions and/or garlic because they both contain quite a bit of natural inulin and fiber. That's whay some who aren't ready for them will get GI problems (diarrhea or Constipation) and sometimes gas. The gas being a sign of microbial fermentation. > I give 1/4 teaspoon of yoghurt today. he took it no problem and later > asked me for more (hope that is a good sign?) Some have reported that the yoghurt helps to get things moving. Still, take it slow with gradually increasing the amounts. Some get excited and ramp up the amounts too quickly - many (most) of the kids here need to slowly adjust to all the great stuff in the yoghurt. Guest guest
Hi Sheila Ok so a lot of good advice there. think I have to back track and leave onions and garlic for a while to see if it helps. For the record do eggs add to the problen of constipation . i think Cian was getting to many though eggs were not the cause. Aileen
