Before this week, it would upset me so much to think that I am valued and treated very well when I look pretty and not fat. But when I still look pretty but have extra pounds, people stare at me, judge me, watch me eat and probably think I should never eat again until I get normal. I felt that if and when I did lose enough weight that I was acceptable to some people that I would get mad and tell those people off. But I've calmed down a bit this past week and I have decided to be kind back and to forgive them because they don't understand (I'm reminded of " God forgive them for they know not what they do!). I think if Jesus Christ can hang, dying from the cross and say those words, it's the least I can do to try and imitate Him. And I will help them understand where I can. And I pray or opportunities to help other obese people find help. I guess what I am saying is, I didn't want to love those people when I look more acceptable to them, but I'm gonna love them anyway. And in the meantime, I'm gonna help everyone God puts me in contact with. Guest guest
, I'm in tears looking at your beautiful pictures. If I can look even half as good after my surgery, I will be pleased beyond words. You look fabulous! I want to think that it won't be that much of a difference - I'll still be " me " , just thinner. I want that so much, but I'm scared, too. This body has given me a lot of protection, and I wonder how I'll feel when I get those well meaning compliments. You know? Will I be able to handle comments from people? Thinking, " do you like me more now that I'm a normal sized person " ? Ok, I'm rambling. It's just got me thinking. You are beautiful. Enjoy every minute of it! Just wanted to let you know that it shouldn't be long before you CAN have pizza. I ate a slice of pizza at one month post-op (slowly) and it went down fine. It was a thin crust pizza and I continue to occasionally eat it today. I never obsess about any food and never feel deprived. I did stay totally on liquids for 14 days and then I started soft foods (eggs, grits, yugurt, cottage cheese, soups, etc.) for the next couple weeks. Everyone can tolerate different foods, but I haven't had any problems with any foods and pizza is still great within moderation. I feel completely satisfied with one piece!! I didn't have any real cravings but others say they pass quite quickly! Keep up the good work! in Raleigh
