Hi all -

I have been researching other WLS being offered in my area, and met with a

nutritionist at the clinic today who told me about " water loading " , so I

thought I'd share...

On her instruction list was the suggestion that " In order to prevent intense

thirst, fluids must be " pushed " in the two to three hours preceding the meal.

" Water-loading " fifteen minutes before the next meal assures maximum

hydration prior to the meal. By limiting your fluids 15 minutes before and

90 minutes after meals, food stays in your pouch longer and helps prolong

feelings of fullness. "

This was news to me as a pre-op, so I thought I'd share it with all you

post-ops and ask if this was true??? (From what I've been reading on the

list, it's difficult to get ANY fluids down!)

Just FYI...
