a, I still have to carry things around with me because I get hungry so

quickly!!!! I usually take a sippy bottle with water in it or if I am at the

grocery store I just grap one and pay for it on my way out!!!! I always keep

crackers or some other snack in my purse. Can't believe in church last

Sunday I even had to get in my purse and eat a cracker during the service,

twice!!!!! If I don't eat I feel queezy!!!! Still though it is worth it!!!

I keep a roll of tums in my purse at all times too. I am 4 &l/2 months post

op. in Missouri

a, My surgery was Jan 10, 2000. I take my vitimins and other stuff at

home. At surgery I weighed 242 lbs and now I am 169 lbs. Have done really

well, but I sure still eat a lot. Seems like I eat all the time!!!! The

only thing I take when I go out for a few hours is my water bottle with sippy

top/ crackers of some kind and my tums!!! That's it!!!

Hi,

I'd like to know how you transport all your powders and meds, especially

in the beginning. I mean... you gotta get out of the house sometime,

huh? Would baby food jars work? or do you have a better idea? Do you

carry around a little cooler for your juices and yogurts?

When did you have your surgery? Was it recent? I can't keep track of

everyone. What about the pouders, vitamins and meds?

<< how you transport all your powders and meds, especially

a, I used the little 2-ounce Tupperware cups with the caps on them...and

I also used the one-cup Tupperware cups (from years ago; don't know whether

they still make them). That's how I take yogurt, applesauce, cottage cheese,

etc. For liquids, I usually put it into a small juice bottle or water

bottle with a sucker-top on it. I just use a little cooler and leave it on

the floor between the front and back seat of my car. If it's going to be a

very hot day, I'll bring it in and leave it in the employee lockers.

Lately, I've been able to use those single-serving fruit cups, appleasauce,

small yogurts and small cottage cheese items directly from the grocery store.

Not as cost-efficient, but it makes it easier to throw a few meals together

for the day and rush out the door. I also use protein bars, protein shakes

(water + extra powdered milk or plain, vanilla yogurt) and of course: fruits

and veggies until the cows come home! Since it doesn't take much to fill me

up, I can put a whole bunch of little things into my little cooler! Dee in

Cool, do you work? I work nights, at least for the moment. I'm looking

into working at home doing billing for doctors. That way I am in more

control. Thanks so much and congratulations on your weight loss!

I bought a soft-sided cooler with a shoulder strap. It came with a little

container which is perfect for crackers and I also bought a small sippy

bottle that fits in well. I put a reusable ice thingy (they have dif.

designs like Pepsi, soccer ball, oreo cookie, etc.) in to keep every thing

cold. Got everything at Walmart.

I also got a pill/vitamin carrier that holds a bunch of pills so I can carry

them in my purse. I also keep a protein bar in a ziplock in my purse. I'm

trying different protein bars right now to find the one that sits best. Some

have too much sugar some have too much fat.

In terms of the powder supplements, I just deal with them at home and don't

bother with them while I'm out. But, when my son was a baby I used to carry

his formula in a three sectioned plastic container with a flip-top lid. I

saw some in the Pharm. section of Walmart today and it reminded me that I can

probably use mine while we're on vacation!
