The rice and potato being removed alone is not as effctive. It takes time to supress the bad gut bacteria. There is a constipation remedy on Elaine's website but it may only be for adults. Guest guest
Hi LJ, Was this the first time for the enzymes? (BTW: we also > give him HNI's Zyme Prime and NO-FENOL). > > Could those symptoms caused by: 1) the inability to digest the walnut? Yes, it may be the skins on the walnuts or it could be die off. It is in BTVC p69, 10th edition, also at http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/beginners_guide/the_intro_diet2 ..htm (dairy version) or http://pecanbread.com/foodprep.html#intro (dairy free version) Sheila, SCD 58 mos, 21 yrs UC mom of , SCD 43 mos
Guest guest
Thanks Sheila, I will look into that remedy. For the enzyme, it's not new and we've given him since long time ago and he seems tolerating them. Do you know if the mixed walnut/pecan made muffin could cause constipation at the starting stage of SCD? we didn't follow that introductory diet, we just removed potato, then 1 week later removed rice(The last ofending food)and added in this nuts muffin, and then saw the constipation. Some go through a kind of constipation during the change in diet. For some it seems to be temporary and is just from an adjustment that the body makes in the foods that are being eaten. Die off symptoms can include fatigue, change in stools, vomiting, sleeplessness, increased urination etc. See http://pecanbread.com/badreaction.html Some find epsom salt baths and/or activated charcoal helpful. > we didn't follow that introductory diet, we just removed potato, then > 1 week later removed rice(The last ofending food)and added in this > nuts muffin, and then saw the constipation. If still having stomach aches I'd pull out the nut muffins, at least for now. Sheila
Guest guest
Hi Sheila I hope that's the die-off symptom (his sleepness is also worsen: waking up in earlier morning, which he seldomly had that before). Meanwhile, do you think it's beneficial to give some natural anti-fungal supplements to battle the yeast die-off, like GSE? (we're regularly on probiotics but just asking of it's good to add in anti-fungal as well.) thanks. > > Hi YL, > > > > Thanks Sheila, I will look into that remedy. > > > > For the enzyme, it's not new and we've given him since long time ago > > and he seems tolerating them. > > > > Do you know if the mixed walnut/pecan made muffin could cause > > constipation at the starting stage of SCD? > > Some go through a kind of constipation during the change in diet. Guest guest
Hi YL, >Meanwhile, do you think it's beneficial to give some natural anti-fungal supplements to battle the yeast die-off, like GSE? (we're regularly on probiotics but just asking of it's good to add in anti-fungal as well.) thanks. You may want to hold off just a bit on the GSE and other natural antifungals because that would likely increase die off and symptoms. When ready to start them take a few hours apart from probiotics (including yogurt or other fermented food) so they don't kill good bacteria.
