I got ome in 1981 with a book of instructions and ir's still making lovely stews and casserole dishes. Too many appliances cause clutter even in a large kitchen. Carol F. Guest guest
For those using crockpots, please check with your manufacturers to make sure there are no toxic metals in them. I used to use Rival's crockpot, and I called them to make sure there was no lead in them. I was told by the customers service rep that there was none, but upon further probing, was told by someone at the manufacturing plant that there is lead & cadmium, but below the levels set by FDA. I now use a glass crockpot by Ultrex that I got on eBay (no longer manufactured, but can be found new on eBay from time to time). Hope that's helpful, Angie > > > > I know quite a few people use slow cookers for various SCD dishes and > > just wanted to let everyone know that mine sent out sparks and started > > a small fire yesterday (and I was home). Guest guest
Angie, Thank you for the research on the crockpots. Do you mean there are toxic metals in the stoneware pot? Or are they in the base? I also have a Rival and I thought I was making healty food!
