Lori MGB 5-25-00 Dr. R >> Hi Lori, My stats are weight 216.5 lbs. 5 feet tall, BMI 42. I guess my one of my fear's is developing a leak after surgery and not surviving it, but on the other hand I have just as big a fear of what will happen if I don't have the surgery with my family history. I watched my father suffer thru 2 heart attacks and a quadruple heart bypass and my mother have to go thru a mastectomy because of breast cancer and BELIEVE me I do not want to have to go thru any of that if I can help prevent it. I emailed my patient info last Tues. a week ago and am now waiting to see about Ins. I have already seen my PCP and he has agreed to support if I agree to some additional tests, I said OK, am just waiting to see what Ins. says before I do them. I have written my patient letter, I am working on my patient contacts now (thank you to all of you that have helped me out with that) My sister is going to write my family support letter (she is having the MGB done this Friday, May 12th) so I'm slowly working on all of it just taking it a day at a time and so thoroughly enjoying myself being a member of this site!!!!!
