I second that Pam, its like I explained to my husband (bless his heart) for

all the understanding, love and support that he gives me about all of this,

it's not the same as being able to talk with all of you as he cannot

comprehend what I feel, what I'm going through, and what I have been through

for years as he has never had a weight problem. All of you have been like a

life line for me and I thank God each and every day for guiding me to this

site and all of you!!!

Robin, not at all, you have to do what is right for you. If the Doc here did

a better job at laps I would have it here. He is taking 5 hours and he take

out you gallbladder at the same time. A good friend of mine is having the

surgery here she is OK with the open. I personally don't wan the open because

of the healing, IM a diabetic and it is so risky. I have heard some patients

that are 6 months out and still have open incisions ..Yuk not for me. I will

love you know matter what kind of scar you get. hehe There are rny patients

on the list. I also post on gastricbypasssurgery list. People from all over

post there even mgbers. Well, did he say why he didnt like this surgery? It

has only been a couple years of doing it. We really don't know the out come

in the long run. But IM sure it is not much different from the RNY. Im

tired I think I will take a nap..I will chat at you later and don't hide like

you have been.

yes Trash, I am here and a little more confused then usual, I went to dr.

Marema's Clinic last night, and it was very informative. He was very nice,

and he has had WLS, and that in my book is an important factor. I am torn,

havig surgery so close to home is also a nice thing and will save money. He

will also do Lap surgery. His reputation is very good, I have spoken

(e-mail) to a number of his patients, and they rave about hime the way we

rave about Dr. R. He does not like the surgery that Dr. R performs, and

siad so, although he did not mention him by name. But did say that he felt

sorry for the reception he would get at the conference that he is presenting

his paper at. I think that there are many ways to approach this, I have

never meet Dr. R. but if I decide to have surgery with hime I know that I

will be in good hands. I also felt that I would be in good hands if I went

with Dr. M. His program is very comprehensive. One small worry that I have

is that you will all yell at me if I choose to have surgery here. All of

you mean a great deal to me. You have made me laugh, cry, think, get mad,

and have become such a part of my life. As I have read your postings, I

have become more educated, more humane and more inspired. So I guess what I

am asking is, no matter what my decision is I hope that I will be aloud to

continue to post here and be welcome.

Still undecided.

Robynn, I'm in the same boat you are,but I figure everyone must do what is

right for them. Even though I'm not going to have DR.R surgery I still have

continued support here and I know everyone jusst wants whats best for

everyone else.Just my 2 cents good luck, Open RNY because that is what my

insurance is paying for and I figure I lucky to get help for my problem.

Dear Robynn,

As far as I'm concerned the choice is yours and you will always be

welcome here. I believe there are several people on this list that did not have

MGB, they had other WLS.

Do what is best for YOU, don't worry about us.

Good Luck,

Genz

No one is going to judge you or yell are you! We are here to support you.

You need to choose what is best for you. I believe that a lot of people have

misgivings about going so far for this surgery. I for one do. But at least

you have the choice of having the procedure done laproscopicly in your state.

Many of us don't, I know I don't. If I did have that choice I probably

would not go so far to have this done. I think I can speak for everyone by

saying that you are always going to be welcome here whatever you decide to do.
