Thank you Sheila:

I'll keep the squash/carrot flour idea on the back burner for now, though

I'm getting some wonderful squashes from the farmer's market now and making

mostly squash soup into which I can hide leftovers 'cause I blend it all

smooth.

Lucy's kitchen might be a good place for me to start, cookbook-wise, but my

family loves Indian cooking, and Raman's book has some Indian recipes...

This is going on my Christmas wish list, so maybe I'll get lucky and get

both (or all three with Marilyn's)!

And hey, I guess we cover this lovely country from sea to shiny sea! Same

applies if you've ever in this neck of the woods, drop on by, anyone else

too for that matter. I 'm really grateful for the input I've received from

this and other lists, I don't know what I would have done without the

Internet!

Take care. Theresa (on the beautiful wet coast, Vancouver, Canada)

When I have made it I cooked the squash and carrots (thinly sliced) first.

I mashed the squash and then layered both on dehydrator trays and dried

until dry. You should also be able to dry it in a low oven (175°-200°F).

After cools I grind it to a powder in a coffee grinder - a blender would

also likely work. I checked with Elaine first because I was concerned that

it may be too much dried cellulose. She said it was okay to use int his type

of quantity.

Besides BTVC, I only have Lucy's cookbook. I have been meaning to get

Raman's cookbook but keep forgetting to order it. I mainly modify my old

preSCD recipes to fit in with the diet. I am looking forward to Marilyn's

cookbook that she is doing up.

The commute would be killer for me because I am on the East coast of

Newfoundland, Canada. Anytime you are in the area drop in for a meal ;)
