Guest guest
Dear , Her reaction to the banana could be a result of phenols. I don't know much about them since I am learning myself. What I do know is that they are an amino acid which some ASD kids have difficulty breaking down just like casein and gluten. I have noticed that my 5 year old who just started SCD may have an issue with bananas as well. Her behavior improved greatly on the intro diet until I gave her bananas for a couple days. Then she began harrassing her brother, being disrespectful and acting impulsive. I have taken them away for now, and I will try again later to see if I get the same response. There is an enzyme which helps break down phenols, but I don't have details because I have been dealing with the same issue these past days. But I think you should begin to look into the phenol issue. Jeni Lynn mom to Elle 14 mo., 3 yr., Margeaux 5 yr., SCD 12 days
