Guest guest
Ana, How many days have you been seeing the symptoms? Have you changed anything in the last few days? Supplements, food, different grocer? I have a friend that once bought her bananas at a different grocery store and they made her sick. When she bought bananas again at the hfs and organic she was fine, when she bought them again at the regular grocer, they made her sick again, so it was something in the particular pesticide used from that grocer that she was reacting to>>?? just keep the faith! Hope he gets better soon, wish I could help Tammy

Guest guest
My 5 yr old son has UC and when I see D I back off the fruit altogether for a few days - giving him mostly protein (though cooked veggies ok) with lots of diluted fruit juice for carbs. This (for us) always takes care of it. He seems to have yeast issues and fruit seems to really trigger something in him if he gets too much... sometimes there is no explanation but backing off the fruit for 2-3 days does really help him. Is your son on any meds at all? The sulfasalazine seems to really help with bacterial overgrowth. One of his flares was helped tremendously by increasing the dosage (dr's orders of course) of this medication. Robbie Die off? Hi Tammy: I sent an e-mail but I don't see it posted, probably I did something wrong. started the diet the second week of June,, we are exactly in the 4 months period. His regression at this point is mainly physical: " D " lack of apetite and fatigue. I took some stool sample on Friday to the hospital to check if he is losing protein on it (We do this every 6 weeks, and so far his levels had been normal. When they loose protein that means that there is inflammation in the colon). The results take 3 days. It seems like a long waiting time, my faith is infinite, and I know that this is the diet for .I will keep you all posted, thanks for all the advice, I am going to order my book. For now, I put him back to the untroductory days food, Charcoal cap. and Epsom Salts baths. Thanks, Ana Mom of 11, UC 7 months, SCD 4 months For information on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, please read the book _Breaking the Vicious Cycle_ by Elaine Gottschall and read the following websites: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info and http://www.pecanbread.com

Guest guest
Hi Robbie, The sulfasalazine besides being an anti-inflammatory, also has antimicrobial properties. One of the reasons I usually take mine a few hours apart from yogurt. Sheila, SCD 56 mos, 21 yrs UC mom of , SCD 41 mos > Is your son on any meds at all? Guest guest
Hi all: started bleeding last night. I am trying to remain as calm as I can be, but it's hard. Today, he is going to start antibiotics, the Dr. mentioned something about a clinic trial with something that it is like aspirine that heals the colon, I will get more info. later today. I have some questions: - If he is bleeding, will that be considered still a die off? - I put him back to the introductory food days, but I am still giving him the same amount of yogurt. If he will start antibiotics today, he needs more than ever his yogurt b/c the antib. will kill the good bacteria. Am I correct? - Has somebody had a die off with bleeding? - How come this could happened almost over night. I did it 100%, and he was as healthy as ever. Thanks for everything, Ana, mom of 11, ASD, UC 7 months, SCD 4 months.
