Guest guest
Dear O'Kelley, I can understand the reason you are so upset. I would feel the same way now that you have come across with more details. There is no reason I would ever look down on someone just because they are on Medicaid or Medicare. Both my parents were on Medicare and thank God they had it. The thing that I was so hung up on was the $500 difference mentioned in Tara's letter. I don't feel that anyone on this list is any better than anyone else. I just think that we need to understand that certain business decisions have to be made by Dr. R, unfortunately his timing stinks. If he made a committment to you and to Tara then he should honor that committment. Even if it means biting the bullet financially. He apparantly made his mind up without regard to the two of you and it is quite possible he is not aware of the ramifications of his decision in regards to the Medicaid approval. I also doubt that he is aware of the poor choice of words that Barbara used in her conversation with you. Even though he is a doctor he is still a businessman. Certain things cannot be controlled by him 100% of the time...such as employees actions. He can however control his own choices in regards to Medicaid. I'm sorry he made that decision and I certainly hope he reconsiders it. I want to emphasize that you are not less a person because of your circumstances, you deserve the same treatment as everyone else. Fairness is never handed out equally, we have all had our crosses to bear they just come in different shapes and sizes. I never intended to insinuate that you are not worthy. If I did imply this I do apologize. I hope you find a way to obtain your goal. Best Wishes, Genz RLSJRMWOKS@... wrote: > want everyone to understand, please, I am not Tara. I am O'Kelley. Guest guest
Dear O'Kelley, I really am sorry this has happened to you and to Tara. I wish there was something that could be done to change it. Why is Medicaid such a one shot deal? You would think they would know that this is not a perfect world. This whole thing puzzles me. I wish I could help. If you think of anything I can do please let me know. If you want to talk call me at 817/ 577-0919. This is going to take a lot of prayer. Guest guest
O', I just love your spunk. It sounds to me like you have a game plan. So how do you find out which insurance will give a quick yes, or even a slow yes? Does anyone have any data on this? I know others would think it odd, but a data base is being set up for PCP that will agree to this and it would be nice if we knew which insurance co. were cooperative also. I have been at the same job for 20 years. I am fortunate enough to have a retirement plan that I can borrow from if I need to. However, if I were in a different position it might be worth looking for a job with a particular insurance carrier. I have a friend who started working where I do just for insurance. She has a handicapped child and needed the insurance more than any other benefit. I love this group, I have only been here a short time but they are so uplifting and supportive that I can't help but read everything they say. They have wonderful ideas. You are an inspiration and in everyones prayers. I hope Tara gets her wish even if it is another way. Guest guest
Thank you for your heartfelt advice O'Kelley. I was just getting ready to make a clinic appointment. At least now I know that is pointless and that there are other avenues. You've been a big help.
