Guest guest
E-groups does not sell email addies, but it's very easy to peruse lists and gather email addies to perpetuate their own spam. There are programs out there that you can enter keywords and they will find the groups and get all the emails (at least in newsgroup programs) in fact, when we would put in our email addies, we would purposely alter them, or set up a hotmail account or something so unwanted spam mail would not make it to our home mailboxes. fg At 11:54 PM 04/30/2000 -0400, you wrote: >Is anyone else getting some of those annoying spam mails advertising about " quick weight loss programs? Maybe some of these computer pirates have ways of getting our addresses according to the type of group it is -- I don't know -- I sure hope e-groups isn't " selling " lists -- THAT would be annoying! Please let me know if anyone else is having this problem -- if so, maybe we could contact e-groups to find out what is going on. > >Thanks / e >pre-op MGB 5/25/
