Pre-digested collagen (collagen is a fibrous protein) probably means that it has pre-treated chemically (probably with acid) so that it is already broken down into smaller units, such as di- or tripeptides, or maybe even free amino acids, so that you can absorb them. I'm sure the same applies to the ingredients in the pet food you were referring to--they're miscellaneous chicken parts which are chemically treated so that they form a soup that can be incorporated into the doog food.
