Guest guest
Dear Jan, You stand up with your head held high and you tell them exactly what you need to. Remember if this was a psyc condition, or alcohol condition or even impotence, there would be no question. People tend to see overweight as being a personal problem ie. you got yourself into the problem,so get yourself out. Just tell them the problems caused by obesity and let them know that a life is a terrible thing to waste. If all else fails look them in the eye and say if it was your mother, wife or child how would you vote. My prayers are with you................... Guest guest
Jan, Good luck with your doctor, prayers are going out to you, your supportive family and your doctor. No wonder I can't sleep. I never get through all the prayers. You have certainly been through a lot to get this opportunity. I am sure that if we did not believe in this so strongly we would not be willing to go through all we have to go through to have it done. I thought getting on the scale and having a pap test done were bad, I hadn't done either in years, but then when I read what you had to go through......my heart went out to you. Let us know how it goes with the doctor. Darlene > >

Guest guest
Jan, I don't understand. Are you saying you went before a panel of 20 men and had to discuss very pesonal information only to be told that the wording was the issue? Couldn't they have told you to reword it without you having to go through what you did? I appreciated your story and how bravely you handled the situation. It just shows how far we have to go yet. You are certainly a hero to me. I'm sure many would have just given up rather than go throught it, and that's probably what they count on. Best of luck. By the way, can you explain the word augmentation....I understand it to mean to enlarge. Can you explain?? Darlene > Susie, > I am very sorry to hear about your husband.
